About This Program
Approximate length 2:00
This program, curated by pianist and Bard College Conservatory Artist-in-Residence Blair McMillen, explores the diverse styles and sounds of concert music written in the last 30 years – a period during which composers have been freed from the confines of what contemporary music "should sound like" and the "complexity for complexity's sake" shackles have been torn away. This program features works by composers who write music not based on rules of composition but based on what they feel, what they love, what moves them.
