Infused with her hallucinatory language, this intimate snapshot of the United States takes form as a collection of songs and stories both witty and soulful. Delving into politics, desire, and portraits of people and cities, Anderson weaves in eloquent leitmotifs and brilliantly conceived tangents to create a uniquely satisfying meta-narrative. A lush sonic landscape of violin and electronics rounds out this poignant picture of our contemporary American moment. Co-presented with the Walker Art Center.
