Description of the concert being rehearsed:

The SPCO presents one of the most beloved works in orchestral music, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, which ranks among the most fiercely original essays in the Baroque concerto repertoire. Woven between each movement of The Four Seasons will be movements from John Cage’s String Quartet in Four Parts, a piece inspired by the Indian philosophy of the seasons as corresponding with creation (spring), preservation (summer), destruction (autumn) and quiescence (winter). Cage’s meditative and tranquil reflections on the seasons juxtaposed with Vivaldi’s masterpieces will allow audiences to hear the classic in a new light.

Specific works and artists involved in the rehearsal are to be determined.
