Under the baton of Artistic Partner Christian Zacharias, this program features Stravinsky’s Dumbarton Oaks, a chamber concerto that pays homage to Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos, and Schubert’s Fifth Symphony, one of the final statements in a long line of Classical symphonies. Zacharias will also perform as piano soloist on Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 and will conduct Charles Ives’ Three Places in New England, which layers American folk tunes to paint a picture of New England at the dawn of the twentieth century.
