Thomas Kornacker

Co-principal Second Violin

Now in his 34th season as co-principal second violin of The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Thomas Kornacker formerly served as concertmaster of the Florida Symphony and as a member of the Houston Symphony. While in the Army, he was soloist and director of chamber music at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. During that time, Kornacker frequently appeared as a soloist with the West Point Band and performed in more than 60 chamber concerts. He subsequently worked for 10 years as a freelance musician in New York, specializing in contemporary music. Since joining the SPCO, Kornacker has been a featured soloist in numerous concertos and chamber works. He is formerly a member of Chamber Music with Pinchas Zukerman, an ensemble with which he has toured Australia, South America, Europe, Israel and Japan. Kornacker studied with former Chicago Symphony Concertmaster Victor Aitay, and on scholarship with Josef Gingold at Indiana University.
