Start the Music! Percussion Party

10 a.m. - Neighborhood House

This hands-on concert experience is an unforgettable way to introduce young ones to music. As a musical exploration program geared for children ages 3-6 and their families, the format of activities, crafts and games followed by a 30-minute concert provides an up-close musical encounter for everyone in attendance. This concert will feature music from the percussion family and an uplifting story that will charm audiences of all ages. (Total program experience is approximately 1 hour.)

Express Concert: Mozart’s Symphony No. 40

8 p.m. - Ordway Concert Hall

This program highlights the dynamic range of SPCO musicians as soloists within a unified, self-led ensemble. Principal Clarinet Sang Yoon Kim tackles the technically-demanding solo in Bernhard Crusell’s “Grand” clarinet concerto before the orchestra delivers one of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s most well-known symphonies.
