Description of the concert being rehearsed:
Artistic Partner Roberto Abbado leads the SPCO in this program combining cornerstones of the chamber music repertoire with the premiere of a new work. Mozart’s well-loved Prague Symphony is prefaced by a new work by composer Fred Lerdahl, commissioned by the SPCO. Young piano phenom Lise de la Salle brings her “transcendent agility” and “staggering power” (Repertoire) to the stage in her SPCO debut, in which she performs Beethoven’s monumental Third Piano Concerto.
