Description of the concert being rehearsed:

The SPCO eagerly welcomes back Artistic Partner and clarinetist Martin Fröst for a program that puts his dazzling musicianship on prominent display. Fröst performs Copland’s jazz-inspired Clarinet Concerto, originally commissioned by the renowned Benny Goodman, whose performances of the piece in the 1950s secured the concerto a prominent place in the standard clarinet repertoire. Fröst also serves as clarinet soloist on his brother Göran’s arrangement of Brahms’ popular Hungarian Dances. Finally, Fröst is joined by four virtuoso SPCO musicians in a performance of one of Brahms’ final compositions, his Clarinet Quintet.

Please note: Specific works and artists involved in the rehearsal are to be determined.
