The Sphinx Virtuosi is comprised of the nation’s top Black and Latino classical string soloists who are all alumni of the prestigious Sphinx Competition for young American string players. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Sphinx Organization, this self-conducted ensemble will perform an exciting program of concerti through the ages including Beethoven’s timeless Grosse Fuge, Vaughan Williams’ Concerto grosso, and works by Jimmy Lopez and Michael Abels.
