Ruggero Allifranchini

Associate Concertmaster, John H. and Elizabeth B. Myers Chair

Associate Concertmaster of the SPCO, Ruggero Allifranchini was born into a musical household in Milan, Italy, and was raised on a diverse musical diet. As a chamber musician of diverse repertoire and styles, he is a member of Accordo, a founding member of the Borromeo Quartet and Nobilis piano trio with whom he toured around the world. He has been a guest artist of the Chamber Music Societies of Boston and Lincoln Center, as well as chamber music festivals in Seattle, Vancouver and El Paso. He is the Concertmaster of the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra in New York.

Why is classical music important to you?###

“Since a very young age it has been the best way for me to express and communicate the deepest emotions and ideas I felt inside. Having over 400 years of music at our disposal, I’ve always found it hard to label it as ‘classical’ music.”
