Alan E. Hicks

Alan E. Hicks began his professional operatic career as a lyric baritone, and after successful stints as a singer and teacher, turned his attention to stage direction immediately garnering acclaim and winning multiple national awards for his productions. Alan has held contracts with Central City Opera, Chautauqua Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Lake George Opera Festival, Michigan Opera Theatre, Minnesota Opera, New York City Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Seattle Opera, Tulsa Opera, and Virginia Opera, and was recently appointed Director of the Emerging Artist Program at Green Mountain Opera Festival in Vermont. A published author, Alan’s book, Singer and Actor: Acting Technique and the Operatic Performer, is held in over 140 libraries worldwide.
