Angela Waterman Hanson

Angela Waterman Hanson is a member of the Minnesota Opera Orchestra since 2005. She was concertmaster there during the 2006-2007 season, and performs with the Minnesota Orchestra and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. In the fall of 2021 she was named assistant concertmaster of the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra. She is also concertmaster of the Saint Paul Civic Symphony and was concertmaster of the Dakota Valley Symphony for 10 years. An avid chamber musician, she was 1st violinist and founding member of the Mill City String quartet and is a member of the Minnesota Sinfonia. She completed her masters and doctorate at the University of Minnesota where she studied with internationally known pedagogue Sally O’Reilly. Dr. Hanson is Adjunct Professor of Violin at Bethel University and at the Free Lutheran Bible College both since 2008 and also maintains a private teaching studio out of her home. Originally from Wheaton, Illinois, Hanson holds a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from St. Olaf College, where she studied under Charles Gray. Solo opportunities include performances with the Bethel Symphony Orchestra, the Northern Symphony, the Dakota Valley Symphony and the Saint Paul Civic Symphony.
