Christine Soojin Kim, oboist, has been praised for her 'lovely and yet powerful' playing (The Boston Musical Inteligencer) and her 'lovely oboe solos' (Your Observer News).

Christine was appointed as the Principal Oboe of the Sarasota Orchestra for 2016–2017 season and the Principal Oboe of the Des Moines Metro Opera for 2017 season. In 2018–2019 season, she continuously performed with the Sarasota Orchestra as the Principal Oboe.

She has also performed with numerous groups including The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, Minnesota Opera, New World Symphony, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, The Florida Orchestra, San Antonio Symphony Orchestra, Korean Symphony Orchestra, Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra, Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, Seoul Arts Center Festival Orchestra, Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra, Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra and so on.

In the summer seasons, Christine has appeared as principal oboe with the Des Moines Metro Opera Orchestra and Northern Lights Music Festival Orchestra. Her other festival engagement includes Music Academy of West and Lindenbaum Music Festival.

Christine has received her Master's degree under the tutelage of the Boston Symphony Orchestra's principal oboist John Ferrillo and LA Philharmonic Orchestra's oboist Anne Gabriele from New England Conservatory. At The Colburn School, she earned an Artist Diploma under LA Chamber Orchestra's former principal oboist Allan Vogel, and received her Bachelor of Music degree from Seoul National University studying with Yun-jung Lee.

She currently is the principal oboe at Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra and teaches at the University of Minnesota.
