Clara Neubauer

Praised for her “seductive artistry” and “rare grace” (Classical Voice North America), violinist Clara Neubauer is a recent recipient of the Ana Chumachenco Award from the Kronberg Academy and the Peter Mennin Prize for Outstanding Achievement and Leadership in Music from The Juilliard School. A deeply passionate chamber musician, Clara has appeared at festivals including the Marlboro Music Festival, Ravinia Festival, Taos School of Music, Music@Menlo, Four Seasons Workshop, Music from Angel Fire, and Olympic Music Festival, as well as on tour with Musicians from Marlboro and Taos on Tour. Highlights of this season include performances across North America with the Four Seasons Festival, Perlman Music Program, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Tippet Rise Art Center, and Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players, collaborating with artists such as Mitsuko Uchida, Ida Kavafian, Alexi Kenney, Peter Wiley, and Stella Chen. Since appearing with the National Repertory Orchestra at the age of ten, Clara has performed as soloist with orchestras in America and Europe including the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn, the Symphony of Westchester, the National Repertory Orchestra, the New York Concerti Sinfonietta, the Little Orchestra Society, Ensemble 212, and the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra. Winner of the National YoungArts competition and the Symphony of Westchester Young Artist Competition, Clara received top prizes from the Adelphi Competition, Ensemble 212 Young Artist Competition, and Young Musicians Competition at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Deeply committed to educating and increasing access to music for students across America, Clara is a CMS teaching artist and has led outreach programs and masterclasses for the Perlman Music Program, Music from Angel Fire, Gluck Community Service Fellowship at The Juilliard School, and Olympic Fellowship. Clara has been featured on WQXR as part of their Young Musicians Showcase as well as on TV Globo and CBS Sports, speaking and playing violin. Born on 9/11/2001, Clara can be heard as the voice on the audio guide at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum along with Robert deNiro, and her writing has been published in “Faces of Hope: Babies Born on 9/11”. Clara received her Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School as a student of Li Lin and Itzhak Perlman and a recipient of the Kovner Fellowship. She is currently pursuing her Master’s of Music from The Juilliard School as a recipient of the Kovner Fellowship and a student of Catherine Cho and Itzhak Perlman.
