Known is a community youth choir established in July 2019. The founder and director, Courtland Pickens, has a heart to reach youth through music. He formed Known to fulfill his mission of pouring into the next generation of singers and songwriters. 162 youth auditioned and 48 were selected. Within Known’s first few months in existence, they have opened concerts for LeAndria Johnson, Jonathan McReynolds, PJ Morton and Vanessa Bell Armstrong. The choir is comprised primarily of youth who live in North Minneapolis and the surrounding area.
