Daniel Raney

Daniel’s musical foundation stems from the vibrant music scene of Austin, Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Music from the Peabody Institute under Robert van Sice, and recently completed his Master of Music at the Cleveland Institute of Music under the mentorship of Paul Yancich. Prior to his collaboration with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Daniel has performed as a timpanist with the Erie Philharmonic and the West Virginia Symphony. He has also performed as the fellowship timpanist for the National Repertory Orchestra. In addition to performing as a timpanist, Daniel is an experienced early music percussionist and drum set player. Outside of his career as a timpanist and percussionist, Daniel is a zealous pianist, having studied piano for the majority of his life. In his free time, Daniel enjoys biking, playing at local chess clubs, and exploring new music of all genres.
