Erin Lano

Guest Musician

Hornist Erin Lano is finishing her second season as Associate Principal/Third horn with the Virginia Symphony and will join the Richmond Symphony in the fall as their new Third/Second horn. A frequent guest performer in orchestras around the country, she has played with the Chicago Symphony, the Houston Symphony, the Cincinnati Symphony, the Milwaukee Symphony, the Lyric Opera of Chicago and many others. Erin also spent five seasons as principal horn with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra. She has toured with orchestras in Venezuela, Cuba, and Great Britain. During the summer Ms. Lano performs with the Britt Festival Orchestra in Jacksonville, Oregon. Erin earned her Bachelor’s degree from New England Conservatory under the tutelage of James Sommerville and Richard Sebring, and her Master’s degree at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music where she studied with William VerMeulen.
