Jacqueline Ultan

Jacqueline Ultan currently teaches cello at MacPhail Center for Music and has also taught at Minneapolis Community and Technical College, West Bank School of Music, and Yale University.

Her accomplishments include being a McKnight Performing Artist Fellow, a recipient of a MacPhail Composer Commissioning Grant funded by McKnight Foundation, a Minnesota State Arts Board Arts Tour Grant recipient for Jelloslave, and a Club Commission Grant recipient sponsored by Cedar Cultural Center. She has also been by the Jerome Foundation, the Subito Grant Award Composer’s Forum and TED Talks! Jacqueline co-wrote and performed music for Black Label Movement Dance Theater annual collaboration with storyteller Kevin Kling at Open Eye Figure Theatre, and has performed and recorded with Grammy Award winning producer/son writer Dan Wilson.

Her studies include University of Wisconsin—Madison, and she holds a Bachelor’s of Music from the University of Minnesota, and a Master’s of Music from Yale University, both in cello performance.
