James Prindiville earned a BA in Music Performance/Education at St. John's University, and obtained an MM degree from the University of Minnesota, where he studied with world renowned saxophonist Eugene Rousseau. James has performed a number of times with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the national musical touring company “Chicago,” and has competed in the Coleman Chamber Ensemble competition. He works in a wide variety of music genres, including orchestral engagements, saxophone quartets, solo performances, musical theater pit orchestras, funk/ R&B bands, big bands, and small jazz combo work. He has worked for Carnival Cruise Lines, Theater Latté Da, and the Bloomington and Ashland community theaters, where instrumental doubling on all saxophones, flute, piccolo, clarinet, bass clarinet, oboe, and bassoon. He performs regularly with the ACME Jazz Ensemble, the Andrew Walesch Big Band, Jerry O'Hagan Orchestra and at the Basilica of St. Mary. He maintains a private lesson studio of over 20 students at home, Sibley High School, and Wayzata High School. A number of his students have participated in All State Band and have won first chair placement. Other personal instructors he owes a great debt of musical gratitude include Richard Dirlam, Bruce Thornton, Rita Knuesel, Dean Sorenson, and Craig Kirchhoff. He is happily married to his wife Sarah and is a proud new father.
