A native of Lenoir, North Carolina, Jaquain Sloan is Bassoon Fellow at Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Applied Instructor of Bassoon at Oakland University. Sloan holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Bassoon Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, and a Master of Music degree and Performers Certificate from the University of Southern California.
When his bassoon isn’t in hand, Sloan can be found raising a voice for social Justice with Grammy nominated choral ensemble Tonality, or with the L.A. Choral Lab both based in Los Angeles.
