Percussionist and drummer Jared Soldiviero enjoys a multi-faceted freelance career in his hometown of New York City. Jared appears frequently with Albany Symphony playing timpani, percussion or drum set and has also performed with Springfield Symphony, Vermont Symphony, Stamford Symphony, American Ballet Theater, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and New York Philharmonic. During the summer Jared is Principal Timpanist at Crested Butte Music Festival.
An accomplished chamber musician, Jared is a member of Ensemble ACJW, Deviant Septet, Newband and Ensemble XII. He has also appeared with Argento, Alarm Will Sound, ICE, Wet Ink, Wordless Music and Perspectives Ensemble. His interest in contemporary music has led to performances under conductors Pierre Boulez, Simon Rattle, Susanna Mälkki, Peter Eötvös, Pablo Heras-Casado, Matthias Pintscher and John Adams.
Jared was an inaugural fellow of The Academy at Carnegie Hall and has toured with Ensemble ACJW performing interactive concerts for young audiences around the world. He is also a member of Decoda, an innovative collective of musicians who strive to combine concerts with community-based education.
Jared’s compositions, available at Bachovich Publications, have been performed by the percussion ensembles of Boston University, Rutgers and NYU. As a conductor he has led Ensemble ACJW, Juilliard Percussion Ensemble, ACME and Fireworks Ensemble.
Jared holds B.M. and M.M. degrees from The Juilliard School, where he was a student of Roland Kohloff and Gordon Gottlieb.
