Jenni Groyon is the assistant principal/second bassoonist of the Naples Philharmonic in Naples, Florida. She has held that position since 2001. Jenni was also the assistant principal/second bassoonist of the Grant Park Symphony in Chicago in the summers from 2002 to 2016. Prior to winning her jobs in Naples and Grant Park, Jenni went to Oberlin for her bachelor's degree, where she studied with George Sakakeeny. She earned her master's degree from Rice University, where her teacher was Benjamin Kamins. She also spent one year as a member of the New World Symphony in Miami and two years as a member of the Iris Orchestra in Germantown, Tennessee.

During college Jenni was a member of the Prometheus Wind Quintet, which reached the semi-finals of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. She was a founding member of the Firewood Bassoon Quartet, which received no awards but was really, really fun. Jenni has performed in many summer festivals, including the Tanglewood Music Festival, National Orchestral Institute, New Hampshire Music Festival, and the Sarasota Music Festival.
