Julia Paine

Bassoonist Julia Paine is passionate about taking her music to all corners of the world from the Straits of Magellan to the cathedrals of Paris. She aspires to achieve an intimate chamber music atmosphere wherever she plays her bassoon. She has performed with a variety of orchestras including the St. Louis Symphony, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Charlotte Symphony, Oregon Symphony, and the North Carolina Symphony. As a soloist, she performed the Haydn Sinfonia Concertante with Le Violin d’Ingres in the Cathedrale Saint Martin des Champs in Paris.

Julia also has a strong scientific background, having received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Marine Science at the University of Miami. She completed her Bachelors’ Degree in Music with Gabriel Beavers in 2017 and received her Masters’ Degree with Benjamin Kamins at The Shepherd School of Music at Rice University in May of 2020. She currently maintains a private studio and an active freelancing career while living in Raleigh, North Carolina.
