Kurt Riecken

Kurt Riecken earned his Master’s in Music at Indiana University, studying under Kurt Muroki and Craig Brown where he held an appointment as an Associate Instructor of double bass. He previously attended the University of Central Florida, studying under Don-Michael Hill and earning degrees with honors in Music Performance and Electrical Engineering. Kurt has participated in major music festivals including the National Orchestral Institute, National Repertory Orchestra, and Aspen Music Festival. He has also participated in recordings on the Naxos label, soundtracks for major motion pictures, and has subbed with major symphony orchestras including the Cincinnati Symphony. In October of 2014, Kurt was appointed to Principal of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, a position he currently holds.
