Oboist Liam Boisset received his Bachelor’s degree from The Juilliard School as a student of Elaine Douvas, and currently studies in San Francisco with Eugene Izotov. In 2017, he performed Richard Strauss’ Oboe Concerto with the Las Vegas Philharmonic on their season finale. More recently, he performed with the San Francisco Symphony, Nashville Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, and in the Metropolitan Opera’s productions of Don Giovanni, Guillaume Tell, and Der fliegende Holländer.
Mr. Boisset began his formal studies with William Bennett in San Francisco. In 2012, he won first prize in the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra’s concerto competition, and performed Mozart’s Oboe Concerto with the orchestra in Davies Symphony Hall.
Mr. Boisset spent three summers at the Aspen Music Festival and School, including two consecutive fellowships with the Aspen Conducting Academy Orchestra under the direction of Robert Spano. For the past two summers, he attended the Tanglewood Music Center as an oboe fellow.
