The baritone MATTHEW BROOK has appeared as a soloist all over the world and has worked extensively with conductors such as Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Harry Christophers, Christophe Rousset, and Sir Mark Elder, and many orchestras and groups including the LSO, the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic, The Sixteen, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and Collegium Vocale Gent. Brook's recordings include a Gramophone Award-winning recording of Mozart’s Requiem with the Dunedin Consort (Linn Records); Zebul in Jephtha with The Sixteen (CORO); and Il Re di Scozia in Handel’s Ariodante with Il Complesso Barocco and Joyce DiDonato in the title role (EMI/Virgin). Recent and future highlights include performances of Bach’s Saint John Passion with Soli Deo Gloria; Mozart’s Requiem with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra; Haydn’s Creation with the Handel & Haydn Society; the role of Valens in Theodora with Early Music Vancouver; and performances of Monteverdi’s Orfeo, Ulisse and Vespers as part of the Boston Early Music Festival.
