Michael Yopp

Guest Musician

Michael Yopp currently holds the positions of principal horn in the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra and acting principal horn in the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, he performs extensively in Colorado’s Pikes Peak region including engagements with ensembles such as the Opera Colorado, Opera Theater of the Rockies, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Denver Brass, Pro Musica Colorado, and Central City Opera. Yopp has taken the stage as soloist in performances with ensembles including the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs, First United Methodist Church’s Sacred Concert Series, and Grace Episcopal Church’s Taylor Memorial Concert series. In the summer, he tries to fit in some backpacking and biking among several summer series and festivals including the Crested Butte Music Festival, the Sunriver Music Festival, and the Lake City Arts Festival,. Outside of these many musical roles, he enjoys time with his wife, Jennifer, and two children. In 2006, Yopp founded Comprehensive Computer Consulting, an IT consulting company, which continues to grow steadily. He is also an active practitioner of Taekwondo, having earned his black belt rank in 2015.
