Following a highly successful collaboration with Les Arts Florissants as Associate Conductor from 2007, Paul Agnew was recently appointed Joint Music Director alongside William Christie. Paul is in continuous demand as an outstanding interpreter of the baroque and pre-classical repertoire and his long association with the world’s leading conductors in the field of early music includes a discography of over one hundred recordings. This season Paul sings Christmas Oratorio with Music of the Baroque, Bach’s B Minor Mass with Le Grand Ecurie conducted by Jean-Claude Malgoire. He makes his debuts conducting the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra in Messiah and with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra in a sing/direct programme based on the story of Armida. And with Les Arts Florissants he presents Book VIII of the Monteverdi Madrigals as well as Campra’s Petits Motets in concert at the Opéra Comique.
