Violinist Sarah Grimes is a native of the Twin Cities, and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in 2014 from the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University. Sarah was appointed as a regular member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago in 2013, as well as concertmaster of the Northwestern Symphony Orchestra. She has appeared as a soloist with the Minnesota Orchestra, Minnesota Sinfonia, Evanston Chamber Players, and the Ottawa Chamber Symphony. Sarah received awards in many competitions in the Twin Cities area, including Schubert Club, Thursday Musical, YPSCA, and the Minnesota Sinfonia Solo Competition. She has spent recent summers as a chamber musician at festivals including The Castleman Quartet Program, Quartet Fest West, and Astona International. Her principal teachers include Almita Vamos and Sarah Kwak. Sarah performs as a freelance musician with ensembles in the Twin Cities, including the Minnesota Orchestra and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra.
