Sarah Grudem is a classically trained, award-winning harpist who is native to the Twin Cities. She began her music study as a Suzuki harp student at age seven at MacPhail and continued through earning a bachelor’s degree from the Juilliard School and a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota. Her musical performances have taken her to Norway, the Czech Republic, Costa Rica and around the U.S., including at Ravinia and Aspen music festivals. She performs regularly with local choirs, orchestras and chamber groups, and as a soloist in many area churches for worship, festivals, concerts and weddings. She has performed with The Knights, VocalEssence, Valley Chamber Chorale, Oratorio Society, the St. John’s Boys Choir and in 2023 with the Hope Choir project for their American debut of Kim André Arnesen’s “The Stranger” at the Ordway. Sarah frequently plays with the Minnesota Orchestra and has been a member of the Stillwater based Music St. Croix chamber ensemble for the last eighteen years. Her primary teachers were Kathy Kienzle and Nancy Allen. Sarah lives in Minneapolis with her husband, two children and an adorable dog named Cora.
