About This Program

As the centerpiece of this program of lyrical works by Austrian composers, SPCO Principal Violinist Francisco Fullana, “a rising young virtuoso of outstanding potential” (The Violin Channel) performs Fritz Kreisler’s Liebesleid and Liebesfreud, two pieces for violin and piano that evoke the warmth and simplicity of 19th-century songs for voice and piano. The program concludes with selections from Schubert’s Octet, a major chamber work by one of the most celebrated song writers of the 19th century.
